Julie Boonstra is not only struggling with leukemia, she is being called a liar by a Democrat congressman for sharing her story in an anti-ObamaCare ad. The rep. is also threatening stations that run the ad.

The ad by Americans for Prosperity features Boonstra talking about how her health insurance coverage was canceled due to ObamaCare, and saying that Michigan Rep. Gary Peters “jeopardized my health” by voting for the troubled healthcare plan.

The ad is airing in Michigan as Peters seeks the Democratic nomination to replace Sen. Carl Levin (D- MI), who is not seeking re-election.

The uncertainty of having to restructure her healthcare plan while coping with a deadly disease is troubling to Boonstra:

“People are asking me for the numbers [new healthcare costs]; that’s the heartbreak of all of this. It’s the uncertainty of not having those numbers that I have an issue with, because I always knew what I was paying and now I don’t, and I haven’t gone through the tests or seen my specialist yet.”

The Washington Post’s “Fact Checker” gave the ad ”two Pinocchios” (as compared to four Pinocchios for Obama’s claim that people could keep their insurance if they liked it), claiming Boonstra could find “comparable coverage” for a “comparable cost” under a new ObamaCare plan.

Rep. Peters is threatening to go after the licenses of TV stations that broadcast the Boonstra ObamaCare ad.

What do you think? Is Boonstra’s case justified – or his Peters’ attempt to silence her and go after the licenses of TV stations that run the ad justifiable? In either case, Julie Boonstra is not the ideal “poster girl” that the president and proponents of ObamaCare like to flaunt.
